Pushing On

. . . through the gunk in my head.
I woke up feeling pretty good this morning, despite getting a crappy night's sleep. I wasn't feeling overly congested and was able to get my Italian up and dressed, the monsters (our two cats) fed and watered, the dishwasher emptied and dishes from last night put in there and myself dressed. I even managed to make sandwiches for my Italian for his lunch and grab leftovers from last night for lunch today.
I forgot to set my coffee maker to brew this morning, but I was up and at 'em early enough to get that brewing. Unfortunately, I still wasn't awake enough to consider what to have for breakfast. And if I try to figure it out, my brain wanders toward Chik-fil-a and McDonalds. NOT kind to the waistline or the wallet.
I managed to avoid the siren call of a fast food breakfast. I had coffee, which I did doctor with lots of sugar and powdered creamer. I REALLY need to get all that set up at night before I go to bed.

I did munch on a few almonds to try to tide myself over to lunch, but I found myself popping a bag of popcorn and eating it about 11. I didn't eat the whole thing though! :-) Just most of it. :-(

Lunch . . . YUM! I hope!
It was good! I probably should have followed my instinct and put some parmesan cheese on it, but I wasn't that with it this morning. (I even forgot my wallet at home! Shhhhhh Don't tell!)

I've seen lots of blogs about oatmeal. I'm thinking that might be a good and yummy breakfast, but the weather is starting to warm up! I don't want warm breakfast during warm weather; I don't think.

Snack Girl posted a recipe for DIY Cereal

Since I'm going to the grocery store after work today, I've added what we don't have at home to my list and that's on my list to make. It makes 8 cups and I can stretch it over a couple weeks by having 1/2 cup of cereal and 1/2 cup of milk/soymilk. YUM!

What's your favorite breakfast?

  1. steal cut oats made with rice milk, chopped walnuts, currants, cinnamon, and a poached egg (microwaved) on top. I need the protein, but have been giving up the extra fat and calories. I tend to eat it during warmer weather too because it keeps me very filled until lunch. Can't wait to read how the DIY cereal goes.
