FAIL!
The week started off fairly promising. I mostly stuck to my guns Monday. I ate a relatively healthy dinner. Didn't get any exercise in that day. Monday's, unless I get up extra early and exercise in the morning (morning? what's that? Oh wait . . . that's that evil time when I should be sleeping but have to function! OH! Gotcha. Don't. Do. Mornings.), exercise doesn't happen.
Tuesday I ate pretty okay. I don't think I drank enough water and I had a coke in the afternoon. I weighed in at WW and found out I'd gained 0.4 pounds. Eh . . . okay. I went to Curves afterwards and my shin splints flared up. I only made it 1 time around the circuit before I gave in to the pain in my shins.
Wednesday, I came home fully meaning to work out, but was side-lined by our newest toy. Netflix! And yes, I am fully through season 1 of The Tudors and working my way through season 2. That's probably the biggest reason why my posts have been so sparce recently. Please forgive me!
Thursday I packed my bag to go to Curves, but must have known I was never going to make it because I forgot to pack my shoes. YIKES! I went home instead to clean up for poker night.
Today, nope. No exercise. Eating . . . HA! Back to the old habits in full force.
This just drives home the point I need to formalize my new diet and create a schedule for exercising. Tomorrow I am getting up and biking to and from Curves. Then I'm off to the Sheltering Arms pool to do laps for at least 30 minutes. In this way, I'm getting a maximum amount of cardio in with not as much impact on my poor shins.
On a happy note, my Italian's sister and brother-in-law and their crew are in town for Spring Break for a week. We don't get to see them often, so it's always fun when we do. She makes the world's best cookies. I've tried to compete but she just seems to have the magic touch. (She didn't get it from her mother!)
Happy Good Friday! . . . What's left of it.
My eyes are starting to water and burn (a sure sign that I'm up WAAAY past my bedtime) so I'm off to bed. Good night!

It's tough to stay consistent. I have my days as well. But we can't focus on these small mistakes.
ReplyDeleteI suggest you stop weighing yourself and instead measure your neck, chest, waist, hips, and thighs. This will give you a better indication of how you're doing in your quest to be lean.
As for exercise... don't think of it as a burden that HAS to get done. When you can't do your regular exercise in the AM's, here's a very quick and easy workout (takes 10 mins and you can do it before you even leave your room):
Do 10 squats, drop face-down and do 10 push-ups, lay on back, do 20 sit-ups. Repeat 2 more times (total of three) without resting.
You've just worked out three large muscles and got your heart rate up because you didn't stop.
Good luck.

Thanks! I'll have to give that routine a try. Honestly, I love working out. It's just something I've kept putting off this week.
ReplyDeleteIt's scary how easy it is to fall back into your old habits, huh? I bet you bounced back, so I'm not too worried. Not off to read about all I missed. Should take me a couple of hours...
